| Rose Evelyn Newton (née Wilson, originally Hoskins) February 17, 1956 – April 7, 2026Rose was born on February 17, 1956, in Hanau, Germany, and made her home in Melbourne, Florida for many years as a professional cake decorator and artist where she built a life filled with love, creativity, and connection. She later journeyed to Canada for several years before finally making her home in Bangor, Maine. On the morning of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, she went home to be with her Lord and Savior. How can we sum up a life like yours? You were a selfless role model — Your strength was radiant, your faith evident, and your imprint on the world everlasting. With your attention to detail in cake decorating, baby showers, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and holidays—from Florida to Canada—you made life’s moments more beautiful. For so many families, those memories will be remembered forever. Just as cakes are often the centerpiece of a celebration, you have been a center of peace in our lives. You gave us an example to live by in how you quietly served and were caretaker to those who were sick and inspired us with your creativity in art, architectural design, and your extraordinary love for animals. Those family members left to cherish Rose’s memory is her loving husband, Steve Newton; eldest son Perry (Melody) Wilson, granddaughter, Kira, and her youngest son, Kenneth (Naomi) Wilson, her stepdaughter, Kelly (Doug) Betts; her grandchildren, Bryson and Abigail; and her beloved dachshunds, Bosley and Oscar. Thank you for who you are, for sharing your life with us. We love you more than words can ever express. We miss you every moment. Forever with Love, |
