Androniki “Nikki” Voyazides, born on September 11, 1930, in Thessaloniki, Greece, peacefully passed away on January 5, 2025, in Holiday, Florida, after bravely facing a long battle with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. She is survived by her grandchildren Darren and William Murphy and her brother Paris Takonis.
In 1957, Nikki embarked on a journey to the United States with her daughter, Matina, in search of a better life. Despite their youth, they established themselves in a New York community, where they resided for many years, forming cherished friendships and memories that Nikki fondly recounted throughout her life.
In the early 1990s, Nikki made the life-changing decision to move to Holiday, Florida, where she was joyfully reunited with cherished old friends. Among them was the Grigoriades family, who became a cornerstone of her new life. Elli stood by her side for many years, offering unwavering daily support.
“Every day, I thank my lucky stars for you, Elli,” Nikki would often say, her voice filled with gratitude. Elli’s warmth and kindness were a comfort to Nikki’s spirit, making her feel at home in a new place. George, Elli’s son, and his wife Melinda also played pivotal roles in Nikki’s life and their presence was a constant source of comfort.
Nikki will be lovingly remembered not only for her vibrant spirit but also for her incredible cooking. Her kitchen was a haven where the aromas of her homemade meals filled the air, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Friends and family would often gather around her dining table, eagerly anticipating her signature dishes. Her Cookies will never be duplicated and always be missed.
As a devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation, Nikki was deeply committed to her faith and community. Her joy in sharing her beliefs inspired those around her, reflecting her profound love for her congregation and the teachings of the Bible.
Nikki took great pride in being the grandmother of Darren and Billy Murphy, who treasured her love and kindness. She leaves behind her beloved brother, Paris Takonis, along with a circle of friends and extended family who will dearly miss her.
A determined yet compassionate soul, Nikki had a remarkable ability to uplift those around her. Even in her later years, when mobility became a challenge, she reached out to her community through phone calls and handwritten letters, encouraging others to study the Bible and dedicate their lives to Jehovah God.
Nikki’s legacy of love and faith continues to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her life is a testament to the strength of her convictions and her unwavering dedication to her family and faith.
