| Beatriz Rodriguez Fakler passed away at 92 years old on March 24, 2026 at her home in Sarasota, Florida. She was born in the Dominican Republic, met and married her beloved husband Herman Fakler in Washington DC, raised her four kids in Kensington Maryland, and then moved to Florida in 2015. Beatriz is predeceased by her parents Jose Ramon Rodriguez and Margarita Mansfield Rodriguez; sister Olga Abraham; brother Mario Rodridguez; and sadly, three of her children Christopher Fakler, Michael Fakler, and Joseph Fakler. She is survived by her brother Antonio Rodriguez; her son, Edward Fakler; his wife Teresa Booth-Fakler; Beatriz’s grandchildren Justin Fakler, Jacob Fakler, and Lauren Fakler and her husband Dahri Jahn; and Beatriz’s large beloved extended family of sister-in-laws, cousins, nephews and nieces both in the US and in the Dominican Republic. She was a devout Catholic, treasured her faith and going to church, found much needed solace after the loss of her husband and three of her sons, and undoubtedly has earned a fast-pass to heaven. Beatriz was lovingly cared-for the last two years by Sharon Spence who became her caregiver, friend, and soul mate. Beatriz had a long and successful career in real estate working into her seventies, capping it off with some of the most prestigious real estate projects in Washington DC. Beatriz loved her family and loved having them over. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be missed by all she touched. A memorial service will be planned in Maryland. |
