Benjamin Paul Dempsey, 62, of Land O Lakes, Florida passed away on September 10, 2025 after a courageous 19+ long month battle against cancer. Ben was born in Colorado Springs on May 26, 1963.
After graduating high school Ben enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served honorably and courageously for 24 years making tremendous contributions across the world. While in the Air Force he spent the last nine years of his service as a Flight Engineer on AWACs. He received numerous decorations and medals including three Meritorious Service Awards, an Air Medal for 19 combat missions and Aerial Achievement Medal.
Never one to settle with mediocrity, Ben managed to attain five college degrees. The first college degree was in metallurgy. He went on to get degrees in Certified Instructor in Military Science, Flight Engineering, a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics with a minor in Aviation Maintenance Management and a master’s degree in professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Following his illustrious career in the U.S. Air Force Ben worked for the next 10 years with Northrop Grumman in Oklahoma City and ultimately became a Program Manager with over 40 direct reports in the B2 Tech Data and Obsolescence Engineering program.
Ben is survived by the love of his life, Jennifer, whom he met in 2008 and was blessed to spend over 17 wonderful years together with her. He helped her raise her two children, Chelsea and Mia and became the proud Poppy to Chelsea’s children, Calin and Cohen Pineda.
Ben’s generosity and willingness to always lend a hand plus his incredible ability to do almost anything made him a favorite among friends for the way he was always helping them with any type of projects they had. His legacy of love and friendship will remain in our hearts forever.
Though we will mourn his loss forever, we find solace in the lasting impact of the friendship, compassion, humor and love he shared so freely.
