Her family will miss her as she exuded love and compassion for all. Dana loved painting and was very artistic, and she especially enjoyed doing artwork with loved ones. She loved playing the piano, so much so, she was given a portable keyboard with a headset to use while cruising around in her wheelchair at the nursing home with her beautiful hats on. Dana loved everything beautiful; family, friends, animals, jewelry, knickknacks, furniture, beaches, sunsets, hats, artwork, rocks, music, Tom Selleck, Hallmark movies, decorations, she even had a year-round tree that she decorated for every holiday. If you did not see her Easter tree you definitely missed out!
Dana was the best mom! Her heart was full of love & kindness, and she shared that love with everyone including strangers. She did not always have much to give, but always gave so much. Her caring and kind demeanor is contagious, along with that smile that never stopped. She loved immensely, laughed a lot, welcomed everyone into her home, and was always there to listen and talk to you no matter what time of day or night, oh, and there were definitely some late nights. We will miss you so much Mom, our “sweet browned eyed girl”!
Dana was a graduate of Boca Ciega High School, class of 1962. There she was a member of The Baker’s Dozen singing group. She was into Modern (Jazz) Dancing and Ballroom Dancing. Dana was a former member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, and later a member of Seminole First Baptist. She was also a member of the Mother of Twins Club. Dana was a friend of Bill W. and made many wonderful friends there. Dana’s first job was working for her Dad at Dan McGhan Plumbing. Over the years, Dana helped run her family-owned businesses including Seminole Auto Brokers, Sunoco Gas, Dunkin Donuts, but her all-time favorite career was being a loving mother and raising her children.
Dana was Christian and has gone home to be with the Lord and loved ones up in the sky. Fly high Mom and know that you are loved, adored, and will be missed so very much!
Dana’s Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
