| Grace Emily Andrews (nee Weidman) of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, at the age of 97. Grace was born on March 3, 1929, and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She and her future husband met in primary school, and their childhood friendship grew into a loving marriage that lasted 74 years. During her husband Richard’s service in the United States Navy, Grace lived in Pensacola, Florida. Together they returned to Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, where they raised their son, Steven, and daughter, Nancy. She always dreamed of returning to Florida, and in the early 1980s, she fulfilled that dream by moving to the Tampa Bay area. Her retirement years were filled with camping, golfing, and enjoying the area’s beautiful beaches. Grace dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. As a grandparent, she was a constant and cherished presence at family gatherings, Sunday church service, sporting events, performances, and regular grandparent/grandkid dates. She was blessed to meet all six of her great grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Gigi” and will forever remember her always-full cookie jar. Grace’s kindness extended beyond her family to all living things, especially dogs, birds, and beloved gardens. Faith was an integral part of her life, and she was an active, lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. Grace is survived by her daughter Nancy (Andrews) Dougherty and son-in-law, Michael, of New Port Richey. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher Dougherty (wife, Erica), Brianna (Dougherty) Jerman (husband, Mike), and Courtney Dougherty; and six great-grandchildren: Adeline Grace Jerman, Julia Dougherty, Molly Jerman, Caroline Dougherty, Lincoln Jerman, and Nolan Dougherty. Grace is now home with her heavenly Father and was undoubtedly welcomed at the gates by her husband, Richard Andrews, who passed in May 2024, and her son, Steven Andrews, who passed in November, 2025. |
