James Laughlin, 67, of Tampa, Florida and formerly of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 29, 2024.

Jim was the son of Robert and Rosemary Laughlin. Jim is survived by his wife Christine Laughlin, her son Josh Mysnyk, and former spouse Lynn with children Joe Laughlin, Kelly Jupitz, and Jamie DeKorte along with their spouses Molly, Andrew, and Ryan and Jim’s grandchildren Beatrice, Lucas, Estella, and Oswald. Jim’s fifth grandchild and namesake James Laughlin is expected to be born any day while the families continue to grow. Jim is also survived by his brothers Kevin, Brian, and Brian’s wife Karen.

Jim was a husband, father, grandfather, musician and businessman. Jim was an active person in his community and will be well remembered among many in the Erie area through his friendship, business activity, and charitable work. Jim was an award winning pianist, including Best Piano and Best Band in the Rock Erie Music Awards.

But Jim was always the most alive when he was with his wife, visiting his grandchildren, or when he was playing the keyboard up on stage. He would want those close to him to remember the warm moments he was with family and the moments he would electrify the dance floor with a song-stealing keyboard solo.
