Jose M. Fernandez also known as Arcadia Joe, a painter and artist and resident of Arcadia Florida for over 30 years passed away on January 20th, 2021 from complications of Diabetes and Kidney disease.
Joe is survived by his brother Angel V. Fernandez, a writer and resident of Miami and numerous nephews and nieces and grand nephews.
Joe was a talented painter who made his living painting signs and doing odd jobs in and around Arcadia. He lived a full life according to his own terms exactly as he wanted to the very end. Sometimes this life was difficult but he was very fortunate to have many friends who helped him and shared many good times (and bad) with him. He never married or had children but did spend many years with two women who remained his friends.
He painted many portraits and still life’s and his brother Angel and good friend Al Soler a fellow painter from Sarasota and cousin have a good collection of his works.
Joe is in a much better place and will be missed, he was a good soul.
