Mark Truman Elam passed away on January 13, 2023 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Mark was born June 27, 1962 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma moving to Arcadia, Florida when he was 10 years old.

He started working when he was 15 years old doing hay and watermelons. When he was 18 years old he joined the Army and then the Army Reserve, later on in life he became a heavy equipment operator and a mechanic. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, sitting by the fire and spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife Lillian Elam, his three daughters Bobbie Elam of Arcadia, Florida, Amber Elam of Charleston, South Carolina, Ashley Elam of Woodruff, South Carolina. Six grandchildren Ja’Kwon Elam and Te’Yona Elam of Arcadia, Florida, Savannah Persaud, Chloe Persaud and Irie Jones of Woodruff, South Carolina. Everlleigh Macharie of Charleston, South Carolina. Father, Truman Elam of Labelle Florida, Mother, Barbara Elam of Gray Court, South Carolina. Two brothers Jim {Sherry} Elam of Jonesville, South Carolina and Cavin {Karen} Elam of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Five sisters Debby Merkin of Arcadia Florida, Susan Doeberl of Bradenton, Florida, Barbara Boone
of Punta Gorda, Florida, Mary {Duane} Tucker of LaBelle, Florida and Charlene {Travis} Shultz of Gray Court, South Carolina. All his nieces and nephews. Mark is preceded in death by his son Steven Elam and granddaughter Zakiyah Luther.

His Celebration of Life will be held on January 28th, 2023 at Morgan Park at 1pm.
