Mary Ann Daley

Born Mary Ann Blaney in Newark, NJ, she graduated from Saint Michael’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. She had a long career as a Registered Nurse, working briefly at West Hudson Hospital and Jersey Shore Medical Center (Fitkin) before Joe’s job moved the family to PA in 1967. In 1972 the family of eight moved to Bedford. She was a Mom by day while working the night shift at Memorial Hospital of Bedford County (UPMC Bedford) where she was known as “MA.” She retired in 1992, moving with Joe to Florida to be closer to family.

After Joe’s passing in 1999, she lived independently and became involved in various groups at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, where she met many friends including “My Card Ladies”. Although the group changed over the years, she met weekly with Bobbi, Jan, Marge, and Michele, stating they were the best friends a person could have.

On July 7 she enjoyed her 90th birthday celebration with family and friends. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. May she rest now in peace.
