Michael Ray Cupps

Michael ( Mike) R Cupps ,the only Son of Cecil and Janice Cupps, was born on March 17, 1957. Mike was raised in Sumiton Church of God and later became a member at Empire Church of God,
He loved hunting golfing & sports! A letterman in football , baseball and wrestling at Corner High School. He attended University of Montevello on a baseball scholarship from 1975-1977.. In 1978 he was recruited by Harry the Hat Walker former Coach of St Louis Cardinals for a position on UAB’s first baseball team . He played 1st base, He was invited to play Softball with Green Top Barbecue for 12 years, a team of great man who became life long friends! Mike loved hunting , he traveled to several countries. for deer, elk, duck and caribou . But all those places didn’t measure up to his 50 year membership in his beloved Reeds Hunting Camp in Coatopa, Alabama one of his fondest life memories.
He met his wife , love of his life, Deborah( Debbie) a freshman from , Florida, in 1978 at UAB. He always said he had to go out of Alabama to find a woman you would have him! They married in 1982 moving to Empire, Alabama .They had two boys -sharing lots of life adventures ! The boys athletics kept him busy ,he coached or assisted coached their baseball teams.
Mike chose to follow in his Daddy’s footsteps , a fourth generation Coal Miner, becoming a Certified Blaster for the family business. He was on the board of Alabama Coal. Co-op and negotiated land contacts for the family business. After selling the company , Mike moved his family Vestavia, He started Five – Star Pressure Washing specializing in Commercial Properties , Speciality Surfaces and Construction Jobs
In 2018 he & Deborah sold out ,moved to Cape Coral Florida.
He is blessed with two beautiful grandchildren ,& their Mom, Tanja Bar Cupps Kaiserslautern Germany from Son SSGT Kyle Ray Cupps,who died 2014, Son , Jordan Michael Cupps, Alabama,LOHL Deborah. And numerous family members !
