With very heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nicholas James Martelli, 63, who passed away on June 15, 2025, in Sarasota, Florida. Born on the Fourth of July, 1961, in San Diego, California, Nick lived life with grit, sarcasm, and an unapologetic sense of humor. He had a sharp wit, a big heart (even if he rarely admitted it), and a love for the simple joys — playing pool, chasing down Big Gulps (Slurpees) like they were liquid gold, and spending time with his son, Wyatt, at amusement parks riding roller coasters and enjoying all the thrills. Nicholas is predeceased by his parents, Michael Anthony Martelli and Sandra Earlie O’Brien. He is survived by his son, Wyatt James Martelli, and by his siblings: Michael Anthony Martelli Jr. and wife Marlene Julia Ann Martelli and husband Phil Hugh Maxwell Jami Noelle Martelli Dingler and husband Edward Thomas Dingler Maria Mercedes Serrano O’Brien Nick was the brother who made you laugh at the wrong moments, the dad who kept it real, and the friend you could count on. He was a proud uncle to his nieces and nephews: Adam, Alexandra, Jami, Walker, Christopher, Hailey, and Argus. A Celebration of Life will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida, on August 1, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. In his memory, skip the flowers. Instead, grab a Big Gulp (Slurpee), hop on a roller coaster, and deliver some sarcasm — just like Nick would want. |
