Peggy M. Browne passed away in Port Charlotte , FL on October 14, 2024. Peggy was born in Aplin, Arkansas but lived in Alaska after moving out of her parent’s home, the story was she’d been accepted to Juliard in singing but was told no because it wasn’t a Christian school. Was working as a Spanish to English translator in Arizona when she meet and married a Navy man allowing her to travel, Hong Kong, Japan and many more. While moving base to base she learned to cook a variety of meals, Polynesian, German, Cuban, Mexican and Cajun. She made sure her sons could cook meals and that her daughter could do maintenance on a vehicle ensuring that they were not dependent on anyone.
While living in New Orleans, LA she made money by sewing outfits for one of the Mardi Grad Krewes for a couple of years. When living in Chesapeake, Va she put herself through computer programming school and then applied to work for the US Government. She had traveled Europe numerous times and was making plans for another trip but this time she was taking something other than her debit card. Her trip to Australia and New Zealand was one of her memorable ones, especially after spending over a week in the hospital with a respiratory infection. She spent her last 10 months living with her Granddaughter (Jenn and family), she had realized she needed to have someone there to help her with daily activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lelon and Lois Bull, her sisters Betty (Wayne) Cooper and Marie Larsen. She is survived by her sister Carol (Roger) Driver, her 3 children; David (Lori) Browne, Lisa (Mark) Bess and Mike Browne. Her grandchildren, Jenniffer (Daryle) Persson, Rachel Bess and John (Kylee) Bess. Her great grandchildren Chase Bess, Aiyanna James, Victoria Mayes, Mikylah James, Julianna Bess, great niece Liana Myers. She also leaves her brother in law, Carl Larsen and nieces, Cindy (Sam) Young, Cary (David) Finnigan, Heather (Travis) Furst and Heidi (Seth) Dunkin.
There will be a private family service at a later date.
