Richard Lewis McClary

Aged: 81
Richard Lewis McClary passed away on the 29th of August 2021 at the Hospice Center in Sun City Center, Florida. He was 81 years old.
Born and raised in New Jersey where he resided for most of his life, Richard has lived the past 2 decades as a Florida Resident, mainly as a member of the High Point Community in Delray Beach. Most recently, he was a resident of Inspired Living at Sun City Center.
He leaves behind 4 older siblings: Della, James, Robert, and Mildred; 5 Children: William, Bridget, Heather, Kelly and Richard Ian; and 13 Grandchildren; William, Debra, Kimberly, Eleanor, Robert, Lucas, Rachel, Tristan, Rowan, Milla, Shavonne, Alexander, and Gemma. He is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of all his children, Bonnie, and also by his second wife Ruthann.
Richard is a former student and graduate of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in New Jersey (Class of 1958) where he grew up. He also held a bachelor’s degree in Business and Accounting from Rutgers University (Class of 1976).
Richard spent time in the Army and served overseas in a nuclear artillery unit in Germany during the Cold War Era. He was a passionate pilot and flight instructor, and worked hard to maintain his flight certifications throughout most of his life. Most significantly, Richard was the owner/ proprietor of Blazing Star Exxon in Avenel New Jersey for many years where he worked long, hard hours to support his Family.
He was proud of his children, and was an important part of their lives. In the end, Richard loved and was loved. He was here , and now is gone, He will be missed.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
