Richard “Rusty” Russell McKenna Smith
July 24, 1953 – February 18, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard “Rusty” Russell McKenna Smith, age 71, of North Port, FL and Elberta, AL, on February 18, 2025.

Born on July 24, 1953, in Cincinnati, OH, Rusty was the eldest son of Richard and Zerola Smith.

Rusty was predeceased by his mother, Zerola, and his sisters, Vernette and Laurie. He is survived by his father Richard “Dick”, his sisters Cheryl and Tracey, his brother Noel and his children: Kelley, Kenny (Heather), Liz (Josh), and Chelsea (Tyler). Rusty also leaves behind his 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 2nd, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Beef O’ Brady’s in North Port, FL. All who knew Rusty are invited to join his family in honoring his memory and the impact he had on all who knew him.
