Willard Henry “Butch” Mitchell Jr., 69, of Spring Hill, FL, passed away on July 9, 2024. Born on September 23, 1954, in Blakely, PA, he was the son of the late Willard H. Mitchell Sr. and Virginia Mitchell.
Butch, a graduate of Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark, NJ, class of 1972, was a respected business owner, having owned Isle of Capri and Merchants of Venice.
Known for his generosity and compassion, Butch was deeply involved in his community and was a Pastmaster of the Raritan Americus Masonic Lodge and a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. His passions included being an avid Disney enthusiast, Harley rider, and roller coaster aficionado.
He was a devoted member of the Linden Presbyterian Church, where he found spiritual fulfillment and community.
Butch is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Greco, and his children, James Mitchell, Cara Rentzis, Jonathan Mitchell, Megan Rapisarda, and Jacob Sneed Mitchell, as well as his aunt Barbara Nardelli. He also leaves behind a cherished legacy with his nieces Jessica Colon Liptak and Michelle Mitchell, and his grandchildren Isabella Rapisarda, Panos Rentzis, Sebastian Mitchell, Logan Campbell, Aurora Mitchell, James Mitchell Jr., Theo Rentzis, Amelia Rapisarda, and Morgan Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Mitchell; his daughter, Corrine Greco; brother, William Mitchell; and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 3
PM on Sunday, August 4th, at the Lafayette Masonic Lodge, 1550 Irving St, Rahway, NJ 07065.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in memory of Butch.
