Born September 1, 1936, in Bethlehem Pennsylvania, to William W. Gorman Sr. and Yola M. Gorman.
Moved from Bethlehem Pennsylvania to Philadelphia in 1941 and to Ocean City New Jersey in 1948. Graduated from Ocean City NJ. High School in 1954.
Matriculated at Lehigh University in 1954 and graduated in 1959 with degrees, B.S. Chemical Engineering and B. S. Engineering Physics. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and served as Vice President and President of the Lehigh chapter.
He was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army.
Employed by Milton Roy Company as an engineer and in a variety of executive positions in Philadelphia, PA, St. Petersburg Fl, and Chicago Ill.
Was chief executive of E-C Apparatus Corp. first as a division of Milton Roy Company and then an investor-owned and finally as a division of Life Sciences PLC, a London-based holding company. He retired in 1991.
He was a registered Professional Engineer actively licensed in Florida, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. He was an Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Chemists and served as national treasurer for the years of 1991 and 1992. He was a member of the American Association of Clinical Chemists and The Natural Arch and Bridge Society.
He is survived by his wife, best friend, and business partner Esther M. Gorman who passed on August 22, 2022. Son Bruce W. Gorman, wife Judi Gorman and step-grandson Jason Smith of Satellite Beach Florida and Kenneth B. Gorman of Yankeetown Florida. Sister-in-law Judy Harvel, nieces Melissa Harvel Milhaven and Johanna Harvel of Boston Ma. and Seal Harbor Me., nephews James Jordan of Mt. Desert Me. and Ron Jordan of Portland Me. He was proceeded by his parents and Sister Patricia Gorman Smith.
There are no services to be planned. Interment will be in Seal Harbor Maine at a later date.
